Digital shift in higher education gains momentum: experts

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University hosted a key lecture on “Digital Transformation of Higher Education”, highlighting the growing role of technology in academia.Former IAS officer Praveen Prakash noted the importance of the SWAYAM platform and online degree programs aligned with UGC norms. All universities are currently conducting fully online degree programs independently, and have also established a comprehensive learning model to deliver education to students through a Learning Management System (LMS) that complies with UGC guidelines, he added.

BRAOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani emphasized the need for strategic digital integration to reshape learning, pedagogy, and institutional development.

The event saw participation from faculty, researchers and academic leaders focusing on future-ready education systems.
