Mahabubnagar MP and BJP National Vice President D K Aruna on Saturday strongly criticised Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for his remarks that he would continue as Chief Minister till 2034 before entering national politics.

In a statement, DK Aruna said Revanth Reddy appeared to be focusing more on “daydreams” than on addressing public issues and fulfilling the promises made to the people of Telangana. She questioned the Congress government over the implementation of its election assurances, including the much publicised six guarantees, alleging that the party had failed to deliver on its commitments after coming to power.

The BJP leader claimed that farmers, unemployed youth, women and employees were dissatisfied with the Congress government’s performance. She alleged that the administration had failed to address key concerns such as farmers’ hardships, unemployment issues, women’s safety and pending promises, while the Chief Minister was speaking about remaining in power till 2034.

Aruna further stated that the Congress government was misreading recent local body election results and warned that the “real public verdict” was yet to come. According to her, the people of Telangana were increasingly frustrated with what she described as ineffective governance and neglect of public problems.

Targeting the Congress party at the national level, DK Aruna also dismissed Revanth Reddy’s remarks that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would become Prime Minister in the future. She termed the comments “laughable” and pointed out that the NDA had secured public support for three consecutive terms at the Centre, while the Congress continued to face repeated electoral setbacks across the country.

She questioned whether the Congress party itself would remain politically relevant by 2034 and said Revanth Reddy should first focus on fulfilling promises made to the people of Telangana before speaking about future political ambitions at the national level.
