A routine hundi (offering box) counting at the historic Sri Bhadrakali Temple, Warangal in Warangal city has revealed a total income of Rs 85,03,997 along with a notable collection of foreign currency, temple officials said.
Devotees reportedly offered 200 US dollars, 260 Canadian dollars, 30 UAE dirhams, 30 British pounds, 300 Omani currency notes, and 2 Singapore dollars. Along with cash offerings, gold and silver ornaments deposited by devotees were carefully segregated and re-deposited into the hundi as per temple practice. The foreign currency collected was deposited into the Union Bank KMC branch.
The counting process was conducted under the supervision of officials from the Endowments Department, including Warangal Deputy Commissioner’s office representatives E. Gaurishankar, temple Executive Officer, Assistant Commissioner Ramala Sunitha, chief priests, and representatives of various temple service trusts. Around 200 staff members and temple employees participated in the counting operation carried out in a transparent manner.
