The Andhra Pradesh government has reiterated its commitment to providing three free LPG cylinders annually to every underprivileged woman under the Deepam-2 scheme. Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs, Nadendla Manohar, announced that beneficiaries who have not yet availed themselves of the first free gas cylinder must book it before the March 31 deadline.

According to Minister Manohar, 98 lakh beneficiaries have already received their first free LPG cylinder under the scheme. He urged those who have not yet claimed this benefit to act quickly and book their cylinders before the deadline.

The Deepam-2 scheme, launched by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on November 1, 2024, is a crucial initiative under the state government’s Super Six promises. The scheme aims to improve living standards by ensuring access to clean cooking fuel for every underprivileged household in the state.

To support the smooth implementation of the scheme, the state government has allocated Rs.2,684 crore, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the delivery of benefits. Minister Manohar emphasized that the initiative is already making a significant impact by enhancing the quality of life for thousands of families.

To receive the free LPG cylinder, beneficiaries must follow the standard booking procedure and pay the full amount upfront. The government will then refund the complete amount within 48 hours after the cylinder is delivered.

If beneficiaries encounter issues related to eligibility, booking, or reimbursement, they can call the toll-free helpline number 1967 for assistance. The government has assured that all grievances will be addressed promptly. With the March 31 deadline fast approaching, the Andhra Pradesh government urges all eligible beneficiaries to book their first free LPG cylinder immediately to avoid missing out on this significant financial relief.
