Ghar Wapasi in BRS Party

Former MLA Aroori Ramesh returns to Pink Fold

In a significant political development, former Wardhannapet MLA Aroori Ramesh, who had joined the BJP ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, made a triumphant return to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Wednesday. Ramesh formally rejoined the pink party in the presence of BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao and senior leader T. Harish Rao at Telangana Bhavan, marking a classic "Ghar Wapasi" and strengthening BRS ranks in the Warangal region.

Ramesh, a two-time BRS MLA from Wardhannapet (2014 and 2018), had previously contested the 2023 Assembly polls on a BRS ticket but lost narrowly by 16 votes. Disillusioned after his defeat and subsequent unsuccessful stint with BJP—including a loss in the Warangal LS seat—Ramesh resigned from BJP on January 26 and confirmed his intent to rejoin BRS. KTR warmly welcomed him, draping him in the party scarf and praising his past contributions to constituency development. KTR expressed confidence that the pink flag would once again fly high in Wardhannapet, predicting strong public support following exposure to Congress governance failures.

Addressing party cadres at the event, KTR launched a blistering attack on the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing it of total administrative failure over the past two years.

He described Revanth Reddy as an "incapable leader" unfit for governance, alleging the CM prioritizes baseless criticism of the previous BRS regime over actual administration. KTR claimed Congress had abandoned all pre-poll promises, deceiving every section of society due to a lack of intent and time to care for the people.

KTR highlighted the government's massive borrowing of Rs 2.5 lakh crore without launching any notable development or welfare project, questioning where the funds were spent. In sharp contrast, he defended the KCR-led BRS government, stating every borrowed rupee was invested in irrigation, drinking water, education, and health infrastructure.

He also criticized both Congress (in Telangana for two years) and BJP (at the Centre for 12 years) for stalling progress and fostering widespread public discontent. KTR called for united efforts in the upcoming municipal elections to deliver a "resounding victory" against Congress, urging cadres to fight collectively not just in local polls but in all future contests to restore KCR as Chief Minister and hoist the pink flag and car symbol again.
