The GHMC Standing Committee meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi at the Command Control Room of the corporation headquarters. In this meeting, the committee approved 32 agenda items and 7 table items.

Among the major approvals were leasing of 18 vending shops under Tolichowki flyover, public auction of vacant shops, registration of municipal quarters in Nehru Nagar and Kondareddy Nagar to heirs, maintenance of 404 traffic signals with tenders worth Rs 72.31 crore, LED streetlight and CCMS panels tenders for Rs 897 crore, various road works, and infrastructure for graveyards, drains, compound walls, and function halls across multiple zones.

The committee sanctioned Rs 35 lakh for Shantivanam graveyard in AS Rao Nagar, Rs 3 crore for a stormwater drain from Saubhagya Colony to Injapur road, Rs 5 crore for facilities at cremation grounds in Kapra, and Rs 5.7 crore for CC road and footpath works from Shaik Faiz Kaman to Dabirpura flyover. Approvals also included boating at Malkam Cheruvu, outsourcing of drivers and security guards from HYDRA, ERP service extension, property acquisitions for Patigadda ROB, RCC box drain works, pruning vehicles, Airtel poles rental, and insurance benefits for outsourcing SHG women workers.

Seven table items cleared included remodeling of a box drain at Chandrayangutta, medical reimbursement to a corporator’s son, civic works in Alwal, fixation of rental charges for Vijaya Dairy parlors, auction of 354 vacant model market shops, construction of a public toilet at KBR Park, and promotion of 96 senior assistants as superintendents.

GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, members Bonthu Sridevi, Banothu Sujatha, Sameena Begum, Abdul Waheb, Parveen Sultana, Dr. Ayesha Humera, Mohammed Saleem, Bath Zabeen, Mahalaxmi, Raman Goud, C.N. Reddy, Mohammed Baba Fasiuddin, V. Jagadishwar Goud, and Burugadda Pushpa attended. Additional Commissioners Raghu Prasad, Satyanarayana Venugopal, Subhadra, Pankaj, Geeta Radhika, Mangatayaru were also present.
