Marking India’s 79th Independence Day, students of Glendale International School, Financial District, transformed their campus into a vibrant canvas of patriotism and cultural pride. Under the theme “Stories of Viksit Bharat: Nation First, Always First”, over 20 students from Grades 6 to 10 created 60 feet of murals depicting India’s journey—past, present, and future—through art.
The central mural features the Prime Minister’s portrait, surrounded by four pillars of national progress: Garibi (poverty eradication), Yuva (youth empowerment), Naari (women empowerment), and Kisaan (farmer welfare). Flanking these are two powerful visuals—Swachh Bharat symbolising cleanliness and civic duty, and Operation Sindoor representing the nation’s resolve to safeguard dignity and security.
“These walls now speak of India’s heritage, spirit, and vision for a developed future,” said Ms. Minu Salooja, Director, Glendale Schools, India. “Such initiatives encourage students to think critically, express creatively, and connect deeply with the nation’s narrative.”
Grade 9 student Advaitha Kolli shared, “This project helped me honour our freedom fighters while expressing my dreams for a progressive, united India.” This art initiative is part of Glendale’s curriculum that integrates creativity with civic responsibility, aiming to nurture socially aware, future-ready leaders.
