Governor inaugurates limb fitment camp

The Narayan Seva Sansthan held a large-scale free camp for fitting artificial limbs at the Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad on Sunday, helping hundreds of differently-abled individuals regain their mobility and dignity. This event was a deeply emotional occasion, symbolizing a day of renewed independence for many.

The camp, held in collaboration with CSR partners including Make a Change Foundation (UK) and Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Willesden (UK), saw the distribution of 815 Narayan Modular artificial limbs and calipers to 745 beneficiaries. Several recipients were fitted with multiple prosthetics, tailored to their needs.

Inaugurating the camp, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla described the initiative as a true victory of humanity, noting that the transformation witnessed at the venue was deeply moving. He personally interacted with beneficiaries and encouraged them during a parade organised as part of the event. “Service has reached remarkable heights here. These moments reaffirm the power of compassion and collective effort,” he said, commending the organisation’s leadership under Prashant Agarwal.

Among the notable moments were beneficiaries taking their first independent steps after years of immobility, some even attempting activities such as playing football or drinking water unaided for the first time since their disability.

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Industries, Commerce and Food Processing T.G. Bharat  lauded the initiative as a “life-transforming mission,” emphasising its role in integrating differently-abled individuals into the societal mainstream. He also announced plans to organise a similar camp in his constituency.
