Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka mentioned on Sunday that the government’s primary objective is to identify hidden sporting talent in rural areas and provide them with the right training to showcase their abilities on the global stage. With this vision, he stated, the government will soon establish a state-of-the-art Sports University in Telangana with international standards, aiming to help athletes win medals at the Olympic Games in the future.
The Deputy Chief Minister attended as the Chief Guest the opening of the ‘TG 20 Cricket League’ mega tournament held at Uppal Stadium. Speaking on the occasion, he expressed confidence that the league would serve as a strong foundation for the development of sports in the state and for building a bright future for athletes. He further revealed that Hyderabad will soon host a world-class Sports University equipped with top-notch infrastructure.
Notably, the Uppal Stadium, where global football icon Lionel Messi once played, stands as a testament to the city’s capability to host international-level sporting events, he said. The Deputy Chief Minister assured that the government would extend full support to ensure the grand success of the upcoming ‘TG 20 Cricket’ tournament.
