1,800 heritage sites showcased at Hyderabad expo

The “Heritage @ Every Step 2.0” exhibition organised by Pleach India Foundation at Malaxmi Courtyard, Khajaguda, received an overwhelming response from scholars, students and heritage enthusiasts in Hyderabad.

The exhibition showcased the foundation’s flagship initiative, Preserve Heritage for Posterity (PHP), which has documented more than 1,800 heritage sites across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh through field surveys and community participation.

Through photographs, documentation and detailed narratives, the exhibition highlighted lesser-known heritage sites found in villages, sacred spaces, inscriptions, traditional architecture and local cultural practices. The organisers said the initiative aims to create awareness about neglected heritage and encourage people to protect cultural assets for future generations.

A major attraction was the display of prehistoric artefacts, ancient coins, miniature sculptures and historical beads representing different archaeological periods. The exhibits provided visitors an opportunity to understand India’s rich material culture and the craftsmanship of earlier generations.

During a special lecture titled “Every Step, a Story”, Pleach India Foundation CEO Dr. E. Sivanagi Reddy stressed the need to identify, document and preserve lesser-known heritage sites and artefacts. He urged citizens to actively participate in conservation efforts.

Pleach India Foundation Director Dr. Sanathana said the exhibition helped bring hidden heritage into public attention through research, documentation and education.

The Hyderabad-based non-profit organisation works towards preserving India’s art, culture and heritage. Under PHP, the foundation has documented thousands of archaeological sites, monuments, temples, inscriptions, sculptures and cultural landmarks across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
