HKIRRDC hosts seminar on language psychology & knowledge systems

The department of Clinical Psychology, Helen Keller’s Institute of Research & Rehabilitation for the Disabled Children (HKIRRDC), Hyderabad, organized an online national seminar on “Psychology of Language and Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS)” through Zoom and YouTube Live on Saturday.  

The inaugural session was presided over by Prof. Pathan Umar Khan, Founder and Chairman, Helen Keller’s Group, who introduced Helen Keller Group of Institution and its contributions for over 40 years to education, training and empowerment of disabilities. He emphasized the importance of integrating psychology, communication and Indian knowledge systems for holistic human development and social transformation. 

Prof. Dr. Challa Krishnaveer Abhishek, Vice-President of EQ4Peace Worldwide Inc., USA, delivered the session on Psychology in Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and explained the relevance of emotional education, peace studies and traditional Indian psychological thought in contemporary society.

Prof. Dr. G. Sri Krishna, Professor & Head, Department of Clinical Psychology, HKIRRDC, discussed role of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in understanding cognition, emotions, communication and behavioral change. Senior journalist and media educator Satyapal Menon presented a session on “Media & Consumer Psychology,” discussing the influence of media on public perception, consumer behavior and social awareness.
