MDMA racket busted in Hyderabad; 137g Seized

Commissioner’s Task Force, Golconda Zone team, along with Mehdipatnam Police, busted a drug trafficking network and arrested eight persons, including one peddler, three sub-peddlers and four consumers, for possession and sale of MDMA.

Acting on credible information, police seized 137.60 grams of MDMA, a Volvo XC90 car, nine mobile phones, and packing materials including weighing machine, envelopes, rubber bands and hammer, valued at Rs.26,80,500.

The main accused, Shubham Kumar Mishra (19), allegedly sourced MDMA from an earlier arrested associate and continued the trade with Soham Nayak, Kalangi Rajesh and Munthun Kumar. The group reportedly repackaged the drug into small quantities and supplied it to customers through direct delivery and ride-hailing services.

Consumers Mohammed Abrar Alzama, Rashid Bin Hussain, Khaja Zohaibuddin and Abdul Shaybaz were also arrested for purchasing the substance at Rs.2,000–3,000 per gram.

A case under NDPS Act sections 8(c), 22(c), 27A, 29 and 27(a) has been registered at Mehdipatnam Police Station. Police appealed to youth and parents to stay vigilant against drug abuse and report illegal activity.

Investigation continues to trace wider interstate drug supply chain links further.
