Hyderabad has transformed into a major centre of innovation backed by world-class infrastructure, said Telangana Minister for IT, Industries and Commerce D. Sridhar Babu while interacting with a visiting German delegation at the Secretariat.

The delegation, which is touring India to study industrial development across BRICS nations, investment-friendly ecosystems and the role of advanced technologies, included representatives from Global Bridges, an international non-profit organisation. During the meeting, the Minister outlined Telangana’s industrial growth and the range of incentives the state offers to global investors.

Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad has evolved into a key hub not only for information technology and electronics but also for the pharmaceutical, defence and aviation sectors. With its strong industrial ecosystem, the city is steadily emerging as a global destination for innovation and investment, he noted.

Highlighting the state’s industrial policies, the Minister said Telangana has consistently implemented progressive and investor-friendly initiatives to address the challenges of a rapidly changing global economy.

The government ensures uninterrupted power supply and reliable water resources for industries, creating a stable environment for businesses. He added that these policies have continued across different administrations, giving investors long-term confidence.

The Minister also pointed out that Hyderabad’s central location in India, pleasant climate and vibrant cosmopolitan culture make it an attractive destination for global companies and professionals.

He said the ambitious Future City project is taking shape in the southern part of Hyderabad, with initiatives such as AI City, Net Zero City, and the Young India Skills University aimed at strengthening the state’s innovation ecosystem.

Sridhar Babu added that Telangana’s strong talent pool ensures industries have access to skilled professionals. Large-scale skilling and reskilling programmes are being implemented to equip both working professionals and graduates with advanced technological capabilities. He also noted that the semiconductor sector is gaining momentum in Telangana, with companies from Taiwan and Korea beginning activities in chip design and manufacturing, while several global firms are planning to set up data centres in the state. The Minister expressed confidence that collaboration with Germany, known for its engineering expertise, would further strengthen Telangana’s industrial growth. He reiterated that the government is committed to steering Telangana towards becoming a $3 trillion economy by 2047, marking 100 years of India’s independence.

Members of the German delegation present included Dr. Stefan Traeger, Dr. Christian Altenhofen, Frank Bierhorst, Alexander von Kramm, Malte Hohlfeld, Philipp Meyerhofer and Max Millan von Leyer. Director of Industries Nikhil Chakravarthy also attended the meeting.
