Dr. Rambabu Muppidi, accessories designer and faculty at FDDI Hyderabad, has been granted his 17th design patent (No. 459849-001, Class 06-03) by the Indian Patent Office for a unique portable dining table. The design, developed with Dr. Sujeevan Kumar of Geeta University and Anirudh, a B.Des student at FDDI, blends mobility with practicality.

This innovation follows a prolific body of work—17 patents, 80 journals, 8 books, and 20 craft documentations. Legal support came from Senior Advocate Subhajitsha, and the project received strong backing from FDDI leadership.

The design has been praised by peers and industry experts, highlighting the growing focus on user-centric innovation in lifestyle and accessories design. Dr. Muppidi’s achievement reflects the impact of academic research, collaboration, and institutional support, serving as an inspiration for young designers across India.
