Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, on Wednesday held a key coordination meeting with nodal officers of various service providers at the old Commissioner’s office in Basheerbagh. Representatives from telecom, internet, food delivery, courier, and transport services attended the session.
Commissioner Sajjanar urged all service providers to fully cooperate with police during investigations. He suggested each organization set up a dedicated unit to respond promptly whenever information is requested. Emphasizing social responsibility alongside profit, he advised strict monitoring of illegal activities, especially in e-commerce and courier services, where the transportation of narcotics, contraband, or prohibited items has been reported.
Officials were instructed to immediately inform police upon detecting suspicious parcels. Sajjanar warned that assisting unlawful activities could invite stringent legal action.
Concerns regarding transport service providers were also raised. Complaints have surfaced about some cab and bike drivers behaving inappropriately towards women and cancelling rides after passengers confirm their destinations or make payments, causing inconvenience. Service providers were advised to monitor drivers continuously and take strict action against such behavior.
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioners M. Srinivas, Tafsir Iqbal, Shweta, DCP Cybercrime Arvind Babu, along with zonal DCPs and other officials. The session highlighted the importance of collaboration between the police and service providers to make Hyderabad a safer city and ensure better accountability and safety for residents.
