The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has commenced construction of a new six-storey branch in Hyderabad, underscoring its commitment to supporting India’s financial and economic growth.
Charan Jyot Singh Nanda, ICAI President, highlighted the pivotal role Chartered Accountants play across both public and private sectors. On Saturday, he and Vice President Prasanna Kumar performed the Bhoomi Pooja for the new Hyderabad Branch on a one-acre site in Kukatpally.
Speaking at a subsequent meeting in Jubilee Hills, the leadership provided updates on ICAI’s expansion in the region. Vice President Prasanna Kumar noted that Hyderabad hosts nearly 15,000 ICAI members and around 32,000 students. The new facility aims to accommodate growing professional and student needs. Currently, ICAI operates five regional councils and 186 branches nationwide, but Hyderabad will be the first branch to have a dedicated building.
Central Council members and the Hyderabad Branch Managing Committee also attended the foundation-laying ceremony. ICAI’s leadership emphasized that the new branch reflects its ongoing mission to strengthen India’s economic framework as the country works toward its 2047 development goals.
