IIMC holds seven-day ‘Deeksharambh’

The Indian Institute of Management & Commerce (Autonomous), Khairatabad, conducted a seven-day "Deeksharambh" orientation programme from July 11 to 18 for first-year degree students admitted for the 2026-27 academic year, in line with UGC guidelines.

The programme began with an induction for students and parents at Vasavi Kalyana Mandapam. Chairman Prof. Vangapalli Viswanatham, Secretary Challa Prasanna, former Principal P. Poornachandra Rao and Principal Kura Raghuveer addressed students on academics, skills, career opportunities and campus facilities, while the Principal gave a detailed presentation.

Heads of Departments introduced their courses through interactive sessions. NSS officers E. Ramakrishna and Satyanarayana, NCC officer Vasanth, Placement Officer Dilip and Librarian Rama Devi briefed students on their activities. Alumni interactions, sports events and motivational sessions by Prof. Viswanatham and Rajesh Parishad were also held, followed by prize distribution.

A two-day medical camp with Medicover Hospital conducted blood grouping for over 400 students, while a dental camp with GA Dental screened more than 310 students. Principal Raghuveer said the programme was successfully organised with the support of Deans Dr. Santoshi and Dr. D. Thirumala Rao, IQAC Coordinator Sapna, faculty and non-teaching staff.
