Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha revealed that a drone was recently deployed in Vizianagaram, leading to the capture of individuals involved in gambling activities. Anitha inaugurated the pilot project for CCTV camera installation in Jaggaiahpeta, marking a significant step toward crime prevention. With 509 new cameras set up, she stated that Jaggaiahpeta would serve as a model for crime control.

She also announced that the initiative would soon be implemented in her constituency, Payakaraopeta. The minister commended MLA Srirantatayya for his proactive efforts and lauded Commissioner of Police Rajashekar Babu and his team for their dedication. She extended her gratitude to donors who contributed to the installation of CCTV cameras in 71 villages within Jaggaiahpeta.

She noted that 1,000 CCTV cameras and 28 drones have already been deployed in the NTR District Police Commissionerate. She asserted that every home must also have a CCTV camera. The minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to cracking down on illicit activities, including alcohol abuse, drug trafficking, gambling, and other anti-social behaviour.

She also emphasized the importance of the Shakti App and Shakti Teams in ensuring women's safety. Speaking at the event, Anitha addressed the issue of helmet enforcement, pointing out that some citizens evade traffic fines by seeking intervention from local MLAs. She questioned, “People use screen guards for their phones, but what about protecting their valuable lives?” The minister clarified that helmet penalties are a central government mandate and reiterated that wearing helmets not only prevents fines but also saves lives.

The event was attended by Jaggaiahpeta MLA Sriram Rajagopal Tatayya, Nandigama MLA Tangirala Soumya, DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, DCPs Gautami, Saritha, Udayarani, Suraksha Committee Convener Narsayya, other senior police officials, and local residents of Jaggaiahpeta.
