In a heartwarming gesture, a woman from Bhadradri Kothagudem, Telangana, chose an unusual yet meaningful birthday gift for her husband. She adopted a Jaguar for a month at the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad.
Pranavisahithi marked her husband B. Krishna Kanth’s 33rd birthday by contributing Rs 10,000 through the zoo’s animal adoption programme, which allows individuals to support the care of wildlife for durations ranging from one month to a year. After learning about the initiative through media reports, she reached out to zoo authorities and selected the majestic Jaguar as a symbol of strength and uniqueness. She later surprised her husband with the adoption certificate on his birthday.
The zoo's officials appreciated the gesture, noting that such contributions aid in animal welfare and help spread awareness about wildlife conservation. They encouraged more citizens to participate in the programme, which offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of animals. Pranavisahithi expressed her gratitude to the zoo staff for their support and said she felt proud to be part of a cause that benefits both animals and conservation efforts.
