Warangal MP Dr. Kadiyam Kavya raised a strong voice in Parliament today for rural entrepreneurship, with a special focus on empowering Scheduled Caste (SC) youth. She called for updates on government efforts to boost local startups and job creation, underscoring her commitment to inclusive economic growth.
Dr. Kavya welcomed the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), which supports rural micro-enterprises through the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC). Highlighting higher subsidies for SC youth, she noted this makes entrepreneurship more accessible and fosters self-reliance.
She also praised the National SC/ST Hub operating in Warangal, which helps marginalized entrepreneurs with skills training, market access, and public procurement support—aiming to meet the 4% MSE procurement target from SC/ST enterprises.
On financial access, Dr. Kavya emphasized the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), offering collateral-free loans up to Rs.20 lakh for business activities. She detailed the scheme’s loan categories—Shishu, Kishor, Tarun, and Tarun Plus—and encouraged SC youth to take advantage of these opportunities.
However, she expressed concern over the absence of an incubation centre in Warangal, which she sees as crucial for nurturing innovation and sustainable growth. “I will continue pushing for such facilities to transform Warangal into a hub of rural entrepreneurship,” she affirmed.
