A seven-year-old boy who suffered critical injuries in a brutal stray dog attack has recovered and was discharged from Kamineni Hospitals after receiving advanced emergency, critical care and reconstructive treatment.

The child, Advik, was admitted in a life-threatening condition after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs. He sustained extensive scalp injuries, multiple deep bite wounds, severe soft-tissue damage and heavy blood loss. Doctors said he arrived at the hospital in shock with unrecordable blood pressure and was immediately placed on ventilator support in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

During treatment, the boy developed a rare complication when a blood clot formed in a major neck vessel, leading to an ischemic stroke that affected the left side of his brain. The stroke caused weakness and paralysis on the right side of his body. Specialists treated him with blood-thinning medication and intensive physiotherapy, resulting in significant neurological recovery.

A multidisciplinary team, including plastic and reconstructive surgeons, performed several procedures to manage contaminated wounds, reconstruct a large scalp defect and repair damaged soft tissue through skin grafting and other surgical interventions.

Doctors said the child responded exceptionally well to treatment. He is now breathing on his own, walking normally and has regained much of his neurological function. Hospital officials described the recovery as a testament to timely medical intervention and coordinated specialist care.
