The Khammam district police have launched intensified inspections across the district to curb illegal activities and ensure public safety, said Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt.
As part of the drive, police patrolling has been stepped up near ATM centers, banks, and other public places. Movement of suspicious persons and vehicles is being closely monitored, especially during late-night hours. Vehicle checks have been strengthened to stop illegal transport of sand, ganja, and ration rice across state borders. Authorities have issued strict instructions to register cases against lorries carrying sand from bordering states without proper documentation.
In addition, the police are enforcing traffic rules more strictly to reduce road accidents caused by drunken driving. Drunk-and-drive checks are being conducted across all police station jurisdictions. Efforts are also underway to monitor and prevent activities by habitual offenders to curb thefts and other crimes.
Commissioner Dutt said that any suspicious person or vehicle spotted is thoroughly checked, with details recorded before appropriate action is taken. Vehicles violating transport regulations are being fined, and cases are filed against offenders to maintain law and order.
The district police have urged residents to cooperate and report any suspicious activity to help maintain a safe environment.
