KIMS Sunshine Hospital, Begumpet, has introduced the advanced ZEISS KINEVO 900 robotic microscope, marking a major step in precision-driven neurosurgery. This technology enhances safety, accuracy, and outcomes in complex brain and spine procedures and is currently available only in a few centres across India.
The KINEVO 900 combines robotics, high-definition imaging, and intelligent features to support surgeons during intricate operations. Built on “cobotics” (collaborative robotics), it allows greater precision and control. Features such as PointLock and Position Memory ensure consistent focus on delicate areas, while the robotic arm provides smooth, stable movements and reduces surgeon fatigue during long procedures.
Advanced imaging capabilities include ICG fluorescence for real-time blood flow visualization and tumor fluorescence to differentiate tumor tissue from healthy brain matter, aiding safer resections. With 3D and 4K visualization, the entire surgical team can observe procedures clearly. The QEVO micro-inspection tool helps view hidden anatomical regions, improving surgical safety. Integrated navigation and real-time data further enhance accuracy.
The system was inaugurated by Dr. A. V. Gurava Reddy. Experts at the event highlighted its role in improving surgical precision, diagnosis, and patient outcomes, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to advanced care.
