Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that his bond with the people of Nalgonda is inseparable and pledged to work for the welfare of the poor till his last breath.
Campaigning extensively in several divisions of the Nalgonda Municipal Corporation in support of Congress candidates on Tuesday, Komatireddy recalled that the debt he owed to the people who had elected him five times as MLA could never be repaid. “Nalgonda is my home, my family and my life,” he said, adding that he drew strength from being among the poor.
Highlighting education as his priority, the Minister said government schools and colleges were being established in the name of Pratheek, and assured that 18 government schools in the town would be upgraded into quality model schools. He cited the Bottuguda Government School, built to international standards, as a symbol of the Congress government’s commitment to public education.
The Minister said he envisioned transforming Nalgonda into a city on the lines of Hyderabad and appealed to voters to ensure the victory of Congress candidates in all 48 divisions. He assured that he would secure enhanced funds for the town by taking the matter to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Referring to welfare initiatives, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that the government schemes would reach every household and promised to make Nalgonda a frontrunner in development.
Cautioning voters against the “false promises” of opposition parties, the Minister urged people to elect Congress corporators who would directly raise public grievances with him. He asserted that peace and harmony would prevail in Nalgonda and reiterated that all sections of society are equal in his eyes.
Earlier, Minister Komatireddy campaigned in support of Congress candidates in several divisions, including Charlapalli, Marriguda and adjoining areas, explaining the benefits of upgrading the municipality into a municipal corporation and the scope for accelerated development with the election of a new Mayor and corporators.
