Minister for Labour and Mines Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy in a meeting at Marwadi Bhavan in Chennur town assured people that he would look into every grievance. “Upon my initial visit, I observed a lack of fundamental facilities, with auto-rickshaws charging ₹200 merely to enter the wards. Following my election victory, we have constructed CC roads and side drains throughout all wards. Currently, development projects valued at nearly ₹40 crore are in progress. It is essential that basic infrastructure is established concurrently with the emergence of new colonies," he said.

The Minister further revealed that plans amounting to ₹45 crore are in place to provide Godavari water to the residents of Chennur, thereby guaranteeing the absence of drinking water shortages for the next 15 years.

Marwadi bonhomie remembered

Recalling his connections with the Marwadi community, Dr. Vivek remarked, “When I contemplated relocating to the United States, my father encouraged me to establish a business here. My initial partners were from the Marwadi community, establishing a unique bond with you. From them, I have gained lessons in discipline and prudent spending.” He expressed hope that this camaraderie and support would persist in the future.

Encouraging community input for further enhancing the Chennur Municipality, the Minister urged residents to ensure the success of Congress party candidates in the forthcoming municipal elections.

The Minister also stated that during a recent Cabinet meeting, he requested Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to allocate additional funds for the Chennur Assembly constituency in anticipation of the 2027 Pushkaralu.

The Chief Minister responded favourably, assuring increased funding. Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy noted that, similar to the elaborate arrangements made by the Congress government for Medaram, the Pushkaralu would be conducted with equal grandeur.
