Rajya Sabha MP and National BC Welfare Association President R Krishnaiah held a one-day Satyagraha Deeksha at Indira Park’s Dharna Chowk, demanding legal implementation of 42% reservations for Backward Classes in education, jobs, and politics.

Thousands of BC association members, trade unions, students, women, and youth joined the protest. Cultural performances and songs celebrating BC heritage energized the crowd. Presided over by former Telangana BC Commission Chairman Dr. Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan Rao and convened by Gujja Sathyam, the protest marked the beginning of a larger statewide movement, said Krishnaiah.

‘For 19 months, the government has been misleading BCs with unconstitutional measures. Temporary committees and flashy presentations are no substitute for legal action,’ he stated. ‘Even the misuse of B-Forms and derogatory remarks by national leaders will not silence us. If the government fails to act, our agitation will only grow stronger.’

Serikonda Madhusudhanachari (Opposition Leader) said ‘Legal implementation is true social justice. We stand with BCs.’ BJP MP Etela Rajender said ‘This is not just a right but a historic necessity.’ Former Minister V V Srinivas Goud said ‘Revanth Reddy’s government is betraying BCs.’
