Describing the TIMS Hospital as one of the finest government medical infrastructures in the country, BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao said the hospital was envisioned as a world class public healthcare institution with one of the largest medical workforces in India. He alleged that had the previous KCR led government continued in office, the prestigious project would have been fully completed and operational nearly two years ago. Demanding that the present government immediately complete the remaining works, KTR urged officials to improve lift operations and ensure the hospital becomes fully accessible to the public at the earliest

KTR, along with senior leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, visited the TIMS Hospital in Sanathnagar on Friday morning and reviewed the facilities. During the visit, he interacted with patients, attendants, doctors and hospital staff before addressing the media.

He said the TIMS hospitals were established with the objective of providing AIIMS level healthcare facilities to the people of Hyderabad through advanced government medical institutions. According to KTR, the BRS government expanded public healthcare infrastructure beyond traditional institutions like Gandhi and Osmania hospitals by developing modern hospitals equipped with international standard facilities and cutting edge technology.

Spread across 22 acres, the Sanathnagar TIMS was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.1200 crore. KTR said the hospital was designed to provide high quality treatment to poor and middle class families while competing with private corporate hospitals in standards and facilities.

Highlighting the infrastructure at the hospital, KTR said the facility consists of three major blocks, 300 ICU beds and 16 modern operation theatres. He said MRI, CT Scan and other advanced diagnostic services have also been established. The hospital additionally includes emergency ramps, research blocks, academic facilities, VIP suites, a large auditorium and a parking system capable of accommodating nearly 1000 vehicles at a time.

KTR said special facilities were also created for kidney related research and accommodation for attendants of patients. He noted that TIMS hospitals were planned in Sanathnagar, LB Nagar and Alwal during BRS regime, while a 2000 bed government hospital is being developed in Warangal. He added that NIMS is also undergoing large scale expansion.
