Bill to be passed on Tuesday

The Telangana Assembly is set to discuss the Scheduled Castes (SC) sub-castes classification bill on Tuesday. The bill, which focuses on the rationalisation of reservations for Telangana’s Scheduled Castes, was initially listed in the Assembly’s business on Monday.
The SC community in Telangana is composed of several sub-castes, which have now been classified into three distinct groups based on their socio-economic conditions and historical backgrounds. According to the recommendations of the One-Man Commission led by Dr. Justice Shameem Akther, a retired High Court Judge, the sub-castes have been categorized as follows:
Group-1: One percent of appointments or posts or seats are reserved under the rule of reservation for persons belonging to 13 sub-castes including Bavuri, Beda (Budga) Jangam, Chachati, Dakkal/Dokkalwar, Jaggali, Kolupulvandlu/Pambada/Pambanda/Pambala, Mang, Mang Garodi, Manne, Mashti, Matangi, Mehtar and Mundala
Group-2: Nine percent of appointments or posts or seats are reserved under the rule of reservation for persons belonging to 18 sub-castes including Arundhatiya, Bindla, Chamar / Mochi / Muchi / Chamar-Ravidas / Chamar-Rohidas, Chambhar, Chandala, Dandasi, Dom / Dombara /Paidi /Pano, Ellamalawar, Yellammalawandlu, Godari, Jambuvulu, Madiga, Madiga Dasu / Mashteen, Pamidi, Panchama / Pariah, Samagara, Sindhollu / Chindollu, Yatala, Valluvan
Group-3: Five percent of appointments or posts or seats are reserved under the rule of reservation for persons belonging to 26 sub-castes including Adi Andhra, Adi Dravida, Anamuk, Aray Mala, Arwa Mala, Bariki, Byagara, Byagari, Chalavadi, Dhor, Ghasi/Haddi, Relli, Chanchandi, Gosangi, Holeya, Holeya Dasari, Madasi Kuruva, Madari Kuruva, Mahar, Mala/Mala Ayawaru, Mala Dasari, Mala Dasu, Mala Hannai, Malajangam, Mala Masti, Mala Sale, Netkani, Mala Sanyasi, Mitha Ayyalvar, Paky/Moti/Thoti and Relli
This decision, stemming from the Congress government's commitment to social justice, aims to ensure the fair and equitable distribution of reservation benefits among all SC communities. The bill will play a pivotal role in shaping future policies and ensuring that opportunities for social and economic empowerment are accessible to all.
