Telugu Desam Party national general secretary and Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh has called upon party cadres to make the upcoming TDP Mahanaadu a grand success by organising it in a festive atmosphere across all cluster centres in the state. This year’s Mahanaadu, the party’s flagship annual conclave, will be conducted on May 27 and 28 in a hybrid format with a special focus on women’s empowerment under the theme “Sthree Shakti Mahanaadu”.
Lokesh interacted virtually with 1,875 cluster in-charges from across Andhra Pradesh and provided directions regarding preparations for the event. He said the party had initially planned to organise the Mahanaadu on a large scale in Nellore over three days. However, in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for fuel conservation in view of international circumstances, the party decided to conduct the event for two days in a hybrid model.
Under the new arrangement, the main programme will be held at the TDP central office in Mangalagiri with the participation of Politburo members and national and state committee leaders. Simultaneously, Mahanaadu events will be organised virtually at 1,875 cluster centres across the state. Lokesh instructed party organisers to arrange LED televisions, sound systems, and other technical infrastructure at every cluster centre for smooth live participation.
The minister said the Mahanaadu should also be utilised as an opportunity to strengthen the party’s cluster-based organisational structure at the grassroots level. He stated that TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu had directed the party to empower cluster in-charges with greater responsibilities as part of long-term organisational strengthening.
Lokesh directed leaders to ensure participation from all levels of the party structure, including Family Empowerment Coordinators (KSS), booth in-charges, village committees, and affiliated wings. Attendance at the event will reportedly be tracked through the ‘My TDP’ mobile application.
Highlighting the importance of the upcoming local body elections, Lokesh urged party workers to use Mahanaadu as a platform to prepare organisationally for future electoral battles. He said the party system and structure are permanent, while individuals are temporary, and stressed the need for dedicated teamwork and coordination with MLAs and constituency in-charges to make the event a historic success.
Several MPs, MLAs, MLCs, constituency in-charges, zonal coordinators, and senior party leaders participated in the virtual meeting.
