The Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, convened a Cabinet meeting on Friday at the state secretariat. Key decisions included measures to support farmers, industrial development, and infrastructure improvements.

To sustain ongoing Kharif paddy procurement for 2024-25, the government approved an additional Rs 700 crore loan from the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), extending the existing Rs 6,000 crore loan guarantee. The funds will be transferred to AP State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited (APSCSCL), with the loan guarantee commission waived.

The government highlighted a unique initiative to transfer payments to farmers within 24 hours of procurement, with some payments processed in as little as six hours. So far, 2.8 crore metric tonnes of paddy have been procured from 4.6 lakh farmers, totaling Rs 6,469 crore in payments.

Tariff and electricity duty concessions for the Ferro Alloys Producers Association of Andhra Pradesh were extended until March 31, 2025, at an additional cost of Rs 300 crore. The decision benefits around 40,000 employees in the ferro alloys industry.

Approval was granted for the establishment of 63 new Anna Canteens at a cost of Rs 38.43 crore. These canteens, which provide meals for ₹5 per plate, will be added to the existing 203 canteens. The Chief Minister proposed forming dedicated committees to improve operations.

The Cabinet also approved two mini hydel projects at the Sardar Gouthu Latchanna Thotapalli Barrage. These projects aim to produce green energy, create jobs, and generate revenue through water royalties. A Rs 294.2 crore flood protection wall along the Krishna River’s right margin was approved to address recurring floods in Tadepalli’s low-lying areas.

Land transfers for industrial development were sanctioned, including 2,595.74 acres in Kopparthi and Tadigotla villages and 2,621.15 acres in Medi Vemula, Uppalapadu, and N. Nuthalapadu villages. The Cabinet waived stamp duty and registration fees for these transactions. The deadline for regularizing Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) and 22-A prohibited properties was extended to December 2025. Guidelines for distributing house pattas under the "Houses for All" program were also approved, offering 3 cents for rural and 2 cents for urban beneficiaries.

A rationalization plan for village and ward secretariats was finalized to enhance governance under the "Swarna Andhra Vision @ 2047."
