Stating that unity and collective responsibility are the foundations of sustainable development, Minister for Education and Information Technology Nara Lokesh said Mangalagiri can emerge as one of the country’s most ideal constituencies if people work together with commitment and determination.
The minister was the chief guest at the Lutheran Church Dedication Festival organised by the Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church (AELC), Atmakur Parish, following the completion of the newly constructed Lutheran Church at Atmakur in Mangalagiri town. On the occasion, Lokesh inaugurated the church by cutting the ribbon, unveiled the foundation plaque and planted a sapling as part of the celebrations. Special prayers were conducted by church pastors.
Addressing the gathering, the minister said the reconstruction of the church was completed in a manner few could have imagined. “Whenever I visit a church, temple or any place of worship, I always say one thing, God tests us, but He also gives us the strength to overcome those tests,” he said. He emphasised the need for society to stand by people facing hardships. “It is our moral responsibility to support those who are in distress and extend a helping hand. God gave us the opportunity to be part of the reconstruction of this sacred place,” he said.
Recalling the rebuilding process, Lokesh said he had suggested completing the church construction within one year, and the reconstruction committee had successfully achieved the target through strong willpower and dedication. He expressed gratitude to all those involved in the project, calling it a shining example of determination and teamwork. “With commitment and perseverance, anything is achievable. When we join hands, we can realise our collective dreams,” he remarked.
Reflecting on the pressures faced by today’s society, the minister expressed concern over students falling into despair over minor setbacks. “We are witnessing incidents where students lose hope over low marks in examinations. When God puts us to the test, we must overcome it with courage and confidence,” he said.
Sharing his personal political journey, Lokesh recalled his defeat in the 2019 Assembly elections from Mangalagiri. “I did not lose courage. Instead, I worked with greater resolve and connected closely with the people,” he said, adding that perseverance eventually leads to success.
Calling for unity beyond caste, religion and social divisions, the minister urged people to work together for the holistic development of the constituency. “Though our faiths and backgrounds may differ, we must move forward together and face challenges collectively. With God’s blessings, Mangalagiri can be transformed into a model constituency for the entire nation,” he said.
