Hyderabad’s water supply may face temporary disruption following damage to a major pipeline in the city. The 1200 mm diameter PSC gravity main, carrying water from Singur to Khanapur, developed a severe leakage near the Manikonda culvert.
Authorities have initiated emergency repairs to control the leak. The maintenance work is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 6, at 10:00 a.m. and is expected to continue until 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7.
Due to these repairs, water supply pressure will be affected, and some areas may experience interruptions. The affected areas include Manikonda and Narsingi municipalities, as well as neighborhoods served by the Shaikpet reservoir.
Residents in these zones are advised to use water sparingly during the repair period to ensure adequate availability. Officials have assured that services will be restored as soon as the pipeline is repaired.
The authorities urge the public to cooperate and remain patient while the essential maintenance work is carried out.
