Martial arts serve as a tool for self-defense and a path to discipline, said Master Muralidhar Mudiraj of Shoto Khan Academy. At a karate training and grading event held at Gurugovind Singh Stadium on Wednesday, Gauri Shankar showcased exceptional skills and earned the Brown Belt. The program was organized under Japan Shotokan Karate Do Kanninjuku Organization India.
Mudiraj and co-organizer Babu Raj emphasized that learning karate with dedication strengthens the body and equips individuals with self-defense skills. Martial arts are not just about punches and kicks; the practice of yoga and meditation enhances focus and mental strength. Regular training improves muscle strength, blood circulation, and helps prevent obesity. In today’s stressful times, martial arts contribute to mental calmness. They also instill discipline, respect for elders, resilience, and perseverance in children. Integrating martial arts into school curricula can shape healthy, courageous citizens. Gauri Shankar was awarded the Brown Belt and a certificate in recognition of his performance. Coaches, association representatives, and athletes attended the event.
