The Sikhs in Telangana will observe the 350th Martyrdom of Ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahebji on a large scale between November 23 and 30, 2025. Guru Tegh Bahadurji is revered for his sacrifice in defense of human dignity and religious freedom. His life and courage will be honored through Nagar Kirtans, Vishal Kirtan Darbars on his teachings and martyrdom.The Sikh Guru made supreme sacrifices for the nation at the altar of Dharma.
Large-scale events will be organised under aegis of Prabandhak Committee, Gurudwara Saheb Sitafalmandi(GSS) in cooperation with all the Sikh Gurudwaras of Telangana. The GSS will also organise the 350th Gurta Gaddi of Sri Guru Gobind Singh (annointment as tenth Guru of Sikhs).To mark the important occasions, a Kirtan Darbar(mass congregation) will be organised on November 23 from 11 am to 2.30 pm at Municipal Grounds Chilkalguda.
The event will be marked by the recitation of Holy Gurbani keertans (holy hymns) by reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) on the teachings of the Sikh Gurus and Guru Granth sahib ji. Bhai Amarjeet Singhji Taan, Bhai Gurmeet Singhji and other Ragi Jathas will render shabad keertans and kathas. After the culmination of the congregation, Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be open to all the devotees.
Nagar Kirtan (Holy Procession) On Nov 25
A colourful “Nagar Kirtan” will be taken out from the Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad on November 25 at around 4.30 pm in which Sri Nishan Sahebans (exalted ensign, the sacred flag of the Sikh faith) from all Gurudwaras of Telangana will be carried by the Nishanchis (flag-bearers). Guru Granth Sahebji (Revered Holy Scripture of the Sikhs) will be carried on a decorated vehicle along with “Nishaan Sahebans” all along the procession.
“Vishaal Kirtan Darbar” (Mass Congregation ) on November 30
A Vishal Kirtan Darbar will be organized from 10.30 am to 5 pm on November 30(Sunday) at NTR Stadium, Indira Park .The event will be marked by the recitation of Gurbani keertans and shabad keertans (holy hymns) by the reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) on the teachings of the Sikh Gurus and Guru Granth Sahebji. After the culmination of the congregation, Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be open to all devotees.
