Metro India News | Hyderabad

All government departments have made preparations to conduct the Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra in Hyderabad city in a grand and peaceful manner. At a coordination meeting of officials held on Monday at Draupadi Gardens in Sitaram Bagh, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, along with City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, participated. The CP provided directions regarding the arrangements, necessary measures, and security for the procession.

He stated that the yatra, which began in 2010, has gained nationwide recognition in a short span of time. He urged devotees to celebrate the event, which proceeds from Sitaram Bagh to Hanuman Vyayamshala, with devotion, discipline, and order. He clarified that heavy security arrangements are being made with around 3,000 police personnel, along with continuous surveillance through CCTV cameras and drones at every step.

To prevent crimes such as chain snatching, crime teams will be deployed, and SHE Teams will maintain constant vigilance for the safety of women. Referring to last year’s slowdown of the procession due to vehicle breakdowns, he explained that preventive measures are being taken this time to avoid such issues.

Organizers were advised to start the procession by 1 PM and to conduct a trial run in advance to prevent difficulties caused by large vehicles in narrow routes. Keeping in mind the health issues caused by noise pollution, they were instructed to use regular sound systems instead of DJs and ensure that songs and speeches do not hurt the sentiments of other communities. It was also stated that private individuals must obtain police permission to use drones. He appealed to the public and festival committee members to cooperate with the police to ensure the success of the procession.

GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan stated that road repairs and street lighting arrangements have already been completed to avoid inconvenience to devotees. He also advised organizers to take necessary precautions regarding the height of vehicles participating in the procession.

Organizers of the Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra—Bhagavanth Rao, Govind Rathi, Anand Singh, Krishna, Mrs. Shashikala (former corporator), and Lal Singh (former corporator)—raised issues that might arise during the procession, to which the CP responded by assuring that all concerns would be addressed.

Later, the CP, along with GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, inspected the route of the procession.

Additional CP Tafseer Iqbal, Joint CPs Joel Davis, N. Shwetha, Zonal Commissioner Mukunda Reddy, and several other senior officials also attended the meeting.
