Leaders strongly condemned the remarks made by Union Home minister Amit Shah on Dr B R Ambedkar, the the architect of the Indian Constitution. He demanded Amit Shah’s immediate dismissal and called for SC/ST atrocity cases to be filed against him across Telangana.

Prabhakar criticized the BJP for allegedly demeaning Dr. Ambedkar by making remarks that undermine his contributions. He demanded that the opposition party, including the BRS, introduce a resolution in the Assembly seeking Amit Shah’s dismissal and arrest.

He further accused the BJP of having no role in India’s freedom struggle or the drafting of the Constitution. “The BJP must clarify its stance on Ambedkar. Leaders like Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, who adhere to Manusmriti ideology, should explain their position on these remarks,” he added.

The minister questioned the silence of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on the issue and urged the party to clarify its stand regarding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the allegations. “The people of Telangana deserve to know what instructions have been given to BRS MPs in the Rajya Sabha regarding this matter,” he said.

“Why is the BRS silent when Dr. Ambedkar, the creator of the Indian Constitution, is being insulted? The BJP’s claim that praying to God ensures salvation is an insult to the values Ambedkar stood for,” Prabhakar remarked.

The minister called upon Dalit organizations across Telangana to lodge police complaints against Amit Shah for his remarks. He also criticized the BJP’s alliance with business tycoon Gautam Adani, alleging that their 'friendship' has compromised the party’s commitment to the nation.

Prabhakar concluded by emphasizing Dr. Ambedkar’s unparalleled contributions to the nation, stating, “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s wisdom and dedication earned him the responsibility of drafting the Constitution.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud strongly condemned Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his alleged remarks against Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, describing them as a reflection of the BJP’s arrogance. He stated that Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, is revered as a deity by millions, and any insult to him deeply hurts the sentiments of Dalits, Tribals, Backward Classes, and Minorities.

Goud criticized the BJP for its consistent attacks on the Constitution and alleged that the RSS is conspiring to replace it with Manusmriti. He accused the BJP of undermining democratic values and disrespecting both the Constitution and the national flag. “This is not just an insult to Dr. Ambedkar but a grave affront to the Constitution itself,” he remarked.

The TPCC President demanded that Amit Shah issue an immediate apology and resign from his ministerial post. He urged Congress workers to follow the AICC’s call for statewide protests to express their outrage.

Highlighting Congress’s commitment to protecting the rights of marginalized communities, Goud reaffirmed that the party will continue to fight against the BJP’s alleged attempts to erode constitutional values.
