Medicover Woman & Child Hospitals, Hitec City, on Monday organized a heartfelt World Prematurity Day celebration, uniting families, doctors, nurses, NICU graduates, and supporting staff. The event honoured millions of preterm babies, celebrated the resilience of their families, and recognized the dedication of healthcare professionals who make survival possible.
Globally, 15 million babies are born prematurely each year, with India accounting for 3.5 million. Babies born as early as 23–26 weeks and weighing 550–970 grams have achieved healthy early childhood milestones.
Dr. Hari Krishna, Executive Director, highlighted the hospital’s commitment to nurturing growth and potential beyond survival, while Dr. Ravinder Reddy Parige, Director of Neonatology, emphasized the role of world-class care and family courage in turning uncertainty into hope. The celebration featured emotional reunions, activities, and shared gratitude, leaving a powerful message: science, skill, and parental strength transform tiny beginnings into inspiring stories.
