Medicover hosts conference on hip replacement

Medicover Hospitals, Secunderabad is hosting a two-day national conference on Robotic-Assisted Hip Replacement on May 9 and 10 bringing together more than 500 orthopaedic surgeons from across India along with an internationally recognized faculty. The course is being organized in association with the Telangana Orthopedic Association, the Twin Cities Orthopedic Society and the Telangana Arthroplasty Association, and will be held at Novotel hotel.

Dr Uday Krishna Myneni, Head of the Department of Orthopedics and organizing Chairman of the course said that robotic technology represents a major advancement in improving long-term outcomes for patients undergoing hip replacement surgery. Dr Rajkumar Natesan, Vice President of the Indian Arthroplasty Association (IAA), said the adoption of advanced technologies is transforming orthopaedic care across the country.

Hospital management said the cost of robotic-assisted hip replacement at Medicover Hospitals, Secunderabad, has been kept three times lower cost compared to the United States, where total hip replacement typically costs upwards of Rs 25 lakh for a hip replacement procedure.
