Medicover promotes lung health with 5K run

The Department of Pulmonology at Medicover Hospitals organized “Breathe Easy, Run Free 5K Run” on Sunday to raise awareness about lung health and the importance of early screening. The run commenced from the hospital premises, extended up to IKEA, and concluded back at the campus. The highlight of the event was the unveiling of a Free Lung Screening Package (worth Rs 2500) by Chief Guest Dr. Hariradhakrishna which included complete Blood Picture (CBP), Chest X-ray, Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and a Pulmonologist consultation.

Dr. Hariradhakrishna stated that rising pollution and changing lifestyles are significantly impacting lung health and opined that  initiatives like this help encourage preventive care. Dr. Raghukanth emphasized that though often neglected, cold and cough may indicate underlying respiratory issues and that regular screening and active lifestyle are essential. Dr. Rajamanohar mentioned that early detection through simple tests can prevent complications and improve outcomes. Dr. Meghana Subah appealed to everyone to utilize the free screening and prioritize their respiratory health.
