The Andhra Pradesh government’s targeted “100-day plan,” spearheaded by Education Minister Nara Lokesh, has delivered a marked improvement in Class 10 (SSC) results, drawing praise from legislators and educationists alike.
Government Whip Vepada Chiranjeevi Rao described the outcome as a new chapter for public education, citing a rise in pass percentage from 81.1% last year to 85.25% this year. To celebrate the achievement, 60 top-performing students from six north coastal districts were felicitated at a ceremony held at the Vizianagaram Collectorate on Sunday.
Each topper received a cash award of Rs. 1,000 and a merit certificate. Parents and headmasters were also honoured for their role in the students’ success. The event was attended by Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appalanaidu and MLA Aditi Gajapathiraju, along with senior education officials.
Speakers highlighted key interventions such as bilingual question banks, a 30-day residential academic programme, and welfare initiatives like “Talliki Vandanam” as critical drivers of improvement. Officials noted that government school students have begun matching corporate institutions in performance.
MLA Aditi Gajapathiraju also pointed out that girls outperformed boys by 5.22%, underscoring a positive shift in gender outcomes. Leaders called for sustaining the momentum through continued coordination among teachers, parents, and students.
