Amaravati: Minister for Transport, Youth and Sports Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy on Wednesday appealed to Minister for Revenue, Registrations and Stamps Annagani Satya Prasad on the problems faced by people of Rayachoti area of Annamayya district due to high registration charges. Speaking to Minister Satya Prasad at the Secretariat, Minister Ramprasad Reddy said that the registration values were increased by 200 to 300 per cent when Annamayya district had headquarters at Rayachoti and the real estate sector was suffering due to the retention of same values even though the headquarters was changed.
He said that the number of registrations has come down significantly as the market values are fixed above the actual land values. In this backdrop, Minister Ramprasad Reddy requested the state government to consider reducing the registration charges under the jurisdiction of Rayachoti SRO and stopping the proposed market value addition from 01-02-2026 .
