Minister calls upon youth to take Alluri’s fighting spirit as an inspiration

State Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh on Friday called upon today's generation of youth to take Alluri Seetharama Raju’s fighting spirit as an inspiration and work for the development of the society. Minister Durgesh along with State Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu, State Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra, Anakapalli MP CM Ramesh and others unveiled a 10 feet tall bronze statue of Alluri Seetharama Raju installed by Kshatriya Seva Samiti at Narsipatnam on the occasion of the 128th birth anniversary of Alluri Seetharama Raju.

Minister Durgesh said that the birth anniversary of Alluri Seetharama Raju, a symbol of telugu pride and courage, is being officially celebrated and that steps will be taken to take forward his aspirations. He promised to work towards developing Alluri Sitharama Raju’s birthplace as a tourist destination. “He was a man who had mobilized the tribals in the Manyam region and sacrificed his life revolting against the British government.” the Minister praised and informed that Alluri surrendered to the Britishers only to save the life and honor of the people who were tortured to reveal his whereabouts.

The Speaker, Ministers and MP who spoke after that explained the greatness of Alluri Sitarama Raju and the steps to be taken to achieve his ideals. On this occasion, they congratulated the people's representatives who announced to contribute their own funds for the Alluri Smriti Vanam(memorial).
