Misappropriation of funds in non-SC/ST colonies would lead to serious consequences, warned Telangana SC/ST Commission Chairman Baki Venkataiah on Thursday during a review meeting. He also raised concern over delayed job promotions post-district reorganization, particularly in the undivided Medak district, where 55 SC/ST employees were denied notional promotions. He directed the Commissioner to resolve this injustice without delay.
Focusing on employment schemes, he called for strict implementation of the MGNREGS, ensuring 100 days of guaranteed work for all SC/ST households. He ordered clearance of pending wages for APOs, TAs, and Field Assistants for the last three months, along with compensation for wage delays.
Regarding sanitation and health, the Chairman directed officials to clear dues for sanitation workers and extend insurance coverage. He also instructed the administration to take preventive health measures in view of the rainy season. Venkataiah further demanded Rs 10 lakh compensation for families of two female laborers who died in Potareddypet, urging speedy aid under the Abhaya Hastham scheme.
