Senior doctors stress that childhood cancer is not a death sentence. Early detection, timely treatment, and consistent follow-up can cure over 80% of young patients. Dr Rachna Seth of All India Institute of Medical Sciences highlighted that widespread misconceptions and delays—often due to stigma or fear—remain major barriers to survival.

Paediatric cancers respond better to therapy than many adult cancers, and children tolerate intensive treatments well. Warning signs like persistent fever, unexplained weight loss, unusual swellings, or bone pain should prompt early evaluation.

Experts emphasize multidisciplinary care, structured follow-ups, and family counselling. Raising awareness and dispelling myths are crucial to ensure timely medical intervention and improved outcomes for children with cancer.
