The construction of the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Expressway has placed Andhra Pradesh on the global infrastructure map, with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) creating two Guinness World Records during the execution of the project. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu described the achievement as a matter of pride for both the State and the country.

In a post on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said NHAI, through contractor Rajpath Infracon Private Limited, successfully laid 28.95 lane-kilometres of bituminous concrete, amounting to 10,675 metric tonnes, in a continuous 24-hour operation on the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor (NH-544G). This feat resulted in the creation of two Guinness World Records, reflecting exceptional execution standards and coordination.

Chandrababu Naidu credited the achievement to the visionary approach of the Union Government, the leadership of Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, and the extraordinary commitment of engineers and workers involved in the project. He further noted that efforts are underway in other packages of the same corridor to attempt two more Guinness World Records by January 11, 2026, and extended his best wishes to the teams involved.

The six-lane greenfield expressway is being developed under the Bharatmala Phase-II programme and has recently gained significant momentum. Once completed, the corridor is expected to drastically reduce travel time between Amaravati and Bengaluru from the current 11–12 hours to nearly six hours, greatly improving inter-state connectivity.

The expressway will pass through key districts of Andhra Pradesh, including Guntur, Prakasam, Kurnool and Kadapa, before entering Karnataka. The total length of the corridor is estimated to be between 518 and 624 kilometres, with a projected investment of around Rs. 19,200 crore. Of this, a 342-kilometre stretch from Kodikonda to Addanki/Muppavaram is being developed entirely as a greenfield project, while the remaining sections are being upgraded under the brownfield model.
