NIIT Learning Systems, also known as NIIT Managed Training Services (NIIT MTS), on Saturday announced the acquisition of US-based learning solutions company SweetRush in a deal valued at up to USD 26 million.
The acquisition has been executed through NIIT’s wholly owned subsidiary, NIIT (USA), Inc., the company said in a statement. The total consideration includes performance-linked earnouts payable over the next five years, subject to customary adjustments as outlined in the definitive agreements.
Headquartered in San Francisco, SweetRush was founded in 2001 by Arturo Schwartzberg and Andrei Hedstrom. The company specialises in AI-led, custom learning experience design and strategic training interventions. It operates with a core team of over 100 professionals, supported by an extended network of learning experts across the United States and Costa Rica.
According to NIIT Learning Systems, the acquisition brings together SweetRush’s strengths in human-centred, AI-enabled learning design with NIIT’s global scale and managed learning capabilities. The move is aligned with NIIT MTS’s growth strategy to expand its services portfolio across strategic learning interventions, certification programmes and integrated talent solutions.
The acquisition is also expected to help NIIT convert SweetRush’s project-based client engagements into longer-term, annuity-style managed learning contracts by extending its broader Managed Learning Services platform to SweetRush’s customers.
Commenting on the development, NIIT MTS Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Sapnesh Lalla said the combined entity will offer clients a blend of human-centred learning expertise and global operational scale, powered by technology and artificial intelligence.
