On credible information, SOT Medchal along with the Cybercrime, Cyberabad apprehended nine individuals involved in a sophisticated cybercrime operation being run from a rented villa in Bachupally in Cyberabad.

The accused were operating an illegal call centre targeting Indian and US citizens, primarily posing as representatives from reputed payment platforms and financial institutions like PayPal, Geek Squad, and credit card companies.

The accused were identified as Danish Alam, Md Saheb Ali, Md Fahad Pervez, Md Aman Alam, Md Ishtiaque Ahmed, Mohammed Mohsin, Farid Hussain, Md Shadhab Alam and Md Sonu. 

Few accused are absconding and Police is tracking them. All the apprehended accused hail from Kolkata and had relocated to Cyberabad. The arrested individuals confessed to being lured into the operation with promises of high salaries and commissions, and free accommodation. Police recovered 22 mobile phones, 10 laptops, few more accessories like headsets, VOIP call setup from the accused persons.
