TDP National General Secretary Varla Ramaiah on Thursday lashed out at YSRCP chief and former CM YS Jagan describing his five-year rule as corrupt and said that every word he spoke was a pack of lies.

He said, people have been burdened with Rs. 1 lakh 29 thousand crores in electricity. He made it clear that this increase in electricity charges is Jagan Reddy's fault. “Do you have the courage to come to a discussion on this?” Varla Ramaiah challenged YS Jagan.

Varla Ramaiah was furious over YS Jagan's comments that he would hold a dharna. He directly questioned Jagan Reddy, asking who he would hold a dharna against.

“Will he hold a dharna against the corrupt administration he has done?”he questioned the YSRCP chief on this occasion. He reminded that the power generation in AP GENCO plants has decreased due to the substandard coal purchases of YSRCP RajyaSabha MP Vijayasa Reddy.

He said that with a total loss of 1,29,503 crores today this power burden has fallen on the people. “Has a single new power plant been started during your rule?” He questioned Jagan Reddy again.

Varla Ramaiah reminded on this occasion that the pioneer of power sector reforms was CM N Chandrababu Naidu. He said that after the bifurcation of the state, i.e. from 2014 to 2019, the electricity generation capacity was increased by 9,463 megawatts.

Varla Ramaiah explained on this occasion that the electricity generation increased by Chandrababu Government is 15 thousand megawatts out of the total electricity generation in the state.

He said that Chandrababu Naidu is credited with installing 21 lakh street lights across the state and asked YS Jagan whether even a single street light was installed in his five years of rule? He challenged YS Jagan for a public debate.

Varla Ramaiah also responded to former minister RK Roja's comments that YSRCP chief and former CM Jagan Reddy was successful as a businessman and family man.He alleged that YS Jagan did “good business” and embezzled Rs. 43 thousand crores of public money and reminded that even CBI has said the same.
