In a significant step toward modernizing the property registration process, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Revenue, Registration, and Stamps, Anagani Satyaprasad, on Friday launched the Slot Booking System for document registration at sub-registrar offices across the state. The initiative aims to eliminate long queues and reduce wait times, enabling registrations to be completed in just 10 minutes.

Speaking at the launch, Minister Satyaprasad said the new slot booking service aligns with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's vision of delivering citizen-centric governance. “Now, buyers, sellers, and witnesses can visit sub-registrar offices at their convenience and complete registrations without delays,” he said.

The slot booking feature is now available at 26 district-level registrar offices and will be gradually expanded to all 296 sub-registrar offices. Pilot implementations at Gandhinagar and Kankipadu sub-registrar offices have already yielded positive feedback.

Through the official portal (https://registration.ap.gov.in), users can fill in a public data entry, upload documents, pay fees online, and select a preferred time slot. “Those who complete these steps in advance can finish the entire registration process within 10 minutes of arriving at the sub-registrar office,” the minister explained.

For those unable to book a slot in advance, walk-ins will be accommodated after 5 PM, and even on government holidays for an additional fee of Rs.5,000. Over the recent three-day festival break during Ugadi and Ramzan, the state recorded Rs.74 crore in registration revenue.

To streamline post-registration automation, the registration software has been integrated with the state revenue database. The department is also linking its systems with MA&UD and DTCP for complete digital transparency. This integration is expected to be fully operational by April 15, 2025.

With this, only rightful owners can register properties, helping prevent double registrations, impersonation, and document forgery. Aadhaar authentication is now mandatory, and digital signatures of parties involved are being captured during document submission.

The minister further announced a One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for pending payments and penalties under the NALA Act, which governs non-agricultural land assessments. “We are not a government that eats grass for money. We aim for both development and justice for the poor,” he declared.

He also criticized the previous government for land scams under the guise of freehold schemes, accusing them of orchestrating major real estate frauds.

Revenue Special Chief Secretary R.P. Sisodia emphasized that the reforms being introduced have significantly reduced corruption and increased transparency. “Our ultimate goal is to ensure registrations are faceless, paperless, and cashless in the near future,” he said.
