One-day training session on Zoo management conducted for animal keepers in Hyderabad

A one-day training program for animal keepers on Zoo Management and Care was held at Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad on Monday.

The event saw the participation of 31 animal keepers from various parks, including Nehru Zoological Park, Karimnagar Deer Park, Kinnersani Deer Park, Kakatiya Zoological Park, and Lower Maneru Deer Park.

The training was inaugurated by Dr. Sunil S Hiremath, Director of Zoo Parks, Telangana, and J Vasantha, Curator of Nehru Zoological Park, who lit the ceremonial lamp at the Bioscope Hall.

Dr. Hiremath emphasized that the training would enhance the animal keepers' roles in wildlife management, particularly in caring for wild animals in their respective parks. Vasantha highlighted the critical role of animal keepers in zoo management and wildlife education.

The program included a zoo tour, with an animal keeper talk show at the Rhinoceros and Royal Bengal Tiger enclosures. Afternoon sessions featured expert lectures on animal behavior, diet, diseases, preventive care, rescue operations, and tranquilization techniques. The event concluded with certificates awarded to all participants.
